So recently my computer Shut down and made that noise like when you hold the power button for too long. It did this and immediately booted again and ran in this loop. I left my pc off for a few hours and ran it again it would run normal programs . Chrome and such for about 10 mins then shut down and loop. I placed a huge fan next to my computer and removed the side panel. The pc runs normal programs fine for as long as the fan is on however if I run games like counter strike after 20 seconds it will just shut down. I'm scared that I've damaged my cpu as when I was putting the fan in I found my cpu fan was unplugged from the motherboard. Someone suggested that I might need to replace the thermal paste. Hopefully you can help as my cpu is 350 pounds and I don't want to have to replace it. Thanks for the help

85c CPU temp shouldn't be causing a crash. Could possibly be that your video card is overheating, or your power supply is full of dust / fan has failed. Could also be that the motherboard is overheating, though that's pretty unlikely on an Intel motherboard.
No when I plug it in it makes a little help but still can't cope on its own without the huge fan. I've had this computer for a year now and it never made any problems
