Hi all,

Please help me. I have my computer about a year.

Specs:
ASRock Z87 extreme4
i5 4670k + corsair h60
8gb ram
gtx 970
psu 750 gold ? or similar level.

Recently I did not make any change on hardware except physically moved to new location inside my car for about 8 hours drive, and added a Bluetooth receiver.

I am having unexpected fps drop for all my games even low consuming game (lego batman, AOE, LOL), so I went in to monitor my hardware and found all my equipment are about 25~40 C, BUT my cpu is running ~75C idle and hit 100C very easy.

I tried to remove my thermal paste and apply new paste on my cpu TWICE. but it didn't help at all.

Can anyone think of any reason?? What can I do to try to fix it??? Please help.

Also, how can i check if the pump for h60 is running I can put my hands on the mounting and feel little temperature there, but the pipe running from the mounting to radiator is relatively cold. I believe my fan attached to radiator is running ~1990rpm.

Solution
Yep, it sounds like the pump is not working. One hose should be really warm to the touch if the coolant is leaving the pump at 100C. But I'd try another fan header (non-controllable) to be sure. Or better yet, connect the pump directly to the PSU with a Molex adapter.

I did reattach the pump when i reapply the thermal paste, so i dont think the pump is jarring.

i pluged into the ASRock z87 extreme4 3pin "cpu fan2" on top right from the cpu. i dont think this is variable speed because i see no rpm from bios

also, i tried reinstall my window since i hear it could be software problem. but it didnt help

Just to verify, you cleaned the old TIM off both surfaces and re-applied the new TIM when you re-attached the pump?
It's obvious from the outrageous temps you are reporting that something is drastically wrong. Poor pump mounting, poor TIM application, kinked cooling hose, maybe even pump not working. Can you feel any temp difference between hoses? At 75C - 100C, you should have a real noticeable difference.

If all else fails, put the stock cooler back on temporarily and see if the issue is cooler related or CPU related.

the hoses ia relatively much colder compare to the pump itself when cpu at 100c. so i am guessing the pump is not working? so it taking up all the heat and not transfering to the fiuld system?

how is everyone eyperience with rma with corsair. i bought this about a year ago from microcenter, i think i loss all the proof of purchse already. any chance i can rma it?

i am going to get a new fan tonight to test it on
