[SOLVED] Cpu overheating and high chrome usage

I have recently gotten an aio for my 7700k in hopes of overclocking, upon startup, the fan speed is at 100% and the cpu reaches 83 degrees. It settles down after, but every few minutes, my cpu usage goes to 50% and the temps go high again. I recently found out that it was chrome that was using most of my cpu, up to 50%. I have no extensions and have scanned chrome using avg. Cooler is corsair h115i v2.

Solution
There's something else up. There's no way an i7-7700k at stock settings should be reaching those temps at 50% loads on that cooler.

I ran an i7-3770K with a 4.9GHz overclock and at 100% loads only saw 72°C on a similarly sized 280mm AIO.

I'd suggest you check iCue for settings and make sure everything is installed correctly.

Hi, it turned out that my used h115i didn't come with the washers. The cpu was probably mounted unevenly and was not making full contact, explaining the high temps. I've installed a 240mm aio for another build and the temps were much lower, even with a modest oc.
