CPU Overheating & Blue Screen of Death

Hi guys

So this problem has occurred for some time now and I thought it was an issue to do with a game, it used to freeze my computer and a loud blaring sound would omit from my headphones.

Recently, my PC can't handle anything other than logging in.

The CPU has an average temperature of 98℃; also in task manager it is at 100 Percent the entire time, has my CPU gone bust? (Even after cleaning my PC and applying new thermal paste).

I've ruled out RAM issues because I've done a memory diagnostic and nothing unusual has appeared. And I think I've ruled out my PSU because it's not showing the symptoms of a failing PSU.

It's more likely your Windows have gone bust since load is that high. Malware may be first suspect.

What cooler and what application or service is making the CPU that busy?

The game that you run is too heavy for your PC . Build a new system . Or use more powerful cooling .

Similar thing happened to me . I was editing HD videos with an entry level PC . It was shutting itself down after overheating . Now I've got more powerful PC and it has no problems .

With an i5-4690K CPU, the OP doesn't have an entry level CPU.

2 things I would check for
1. Check to see if your cooler is working. Also, you may have to reapply the thermal paste on account of inadequate thermal compound application can be the culprit to poor cooling.

2. Malware. Malware can cause your CPU to be overloaded. You could run a malware scan, but if it's at the point where you can't even get past the login screen without BSOD, I would just scrub the drive clean and reinstall Windows.

It is software, and probably a bad thermal paste job as well. Use one little pea and DO NOT LIFT ONCE PUSHED DOWN.

And who is this cherry acting like a 4690K is trash LOL!

Reset to BIOS defaults while you are at it.
