So I have had this customer built gaming pc for over a year now and i was playing some pubg when it started to overheat. My computer turned off and I left it off for ten more minutes and it seemed fine. I turned it back on and before it booted up completely it said “cpu fan speed error detected. Please check if cpu fan is properly installed on the CPU_FAN header or disable the fan speed low limit option the UEFI BIOS”

I went into setting and reset to the old settings to see no difference.

Now I would put more effort into going into the bios to mess with the settings but the problem is, 30 second after I turn it on it just overheats to 100c and turns off.

Please help

Thanks

Solution
Sounds like the CPU_FAN header is having a problem. Try plugging the CPU fan into a chassis fan header. You won't get UEFI or software readings, but if the pc doesn't shut down, you'll know for sure.

Edit: Also remove and reapply thermal compound
