My CPU has recently been overheating to the point where it has shut down a few times when I was playing World of Warcraft (on fair settings.) When I really started paying attention to temperatures, I noticed that temperatures were at 70-80c on boot. I have cleaned my pc, added a new intake fan on the side (i have one 80mm exhaust fan in the rear as well, changed monitors, and reapplied the thermal paste to no avail. I've had this pc for a little over a year and have recently changed my psu from 300 to 600 watts and put in a radeon 7850 1gb gpu. I installed them three months ago with no issues up until now. The pc itself is not heating up, nor is the exhaust blowing hot air. My gpu is idling at 36c but my cpu is at 70c. Help!

CPU: AMD A10 6700
GPU: Radeon 7850 1gb
PSU: Thermaltake 600W
MOB: Stock from Asus MM11BB

sounds almost like at this point your thermal paste has all but cooked. i'd suggest cleaning off whats left and applying brand new paste.

I thought it was my heatsink too, but it has been thoroughly cleaned as of two days ago. As far as the installation goes, I'll have to check. I hope that's it! :]

I thought the thermal paste was the issue as well. Two days ago, I had my boyfriend clean it up and apply new paste since he's already done it before. The old thermal paste looked pretty crappy so I assumed that had been the issue, but when I started up the PC there was literally no difference at all.
