Sometimes when I leave my computer alone for a while I'll notice that the temps have shot up and my PC will have turned off due to overheating. When I open CAM software I can see the temperature spikes. Ill include the pics here as well.

Solution
Try an air cooler if you have one lying around and see if it fixes it, also make sure any power connectors or fan headers for the cooler are securely fastened together
The pump is working as of right now... unless it is failing and stopping for a short period of time before starting up again. To give further break down of the spike seen in the picture I linked:

5:57 Pm 26C @ 1% load
5:58 Pm 50C @ 1% load
5:59 Pm 56C @ 0% load
6:00 Pm 63C @ 1% load
6:02 Pm 75C @ 1% load
6:05 Pm 100C @ 9% load

remains at 100C until 6:08 Pm and than shuts off. Data reads N/A (of course). If the cooler is failing during this time period, would the 8 minutes at such small loads be enough to raise the temperatures that much? I may swap out coolers tomorrow after work if that's a possibility.
