Hi! I swapped my cpu yesterday and i am having some temp probs.

Previously:
Rampage v extreme, S36 AIO, 5930k oc to 4.1ghz --> max temp i got in 3.5 years of usage was 46C (even while rendering)

Currently:
Rampage v extreme, S36 AIO, 6800k stock ----> idle ~75C

I removed and reinstalled the AIO twice, same results.

Whats wrong?

And I suppose it's BIOS version 3101?... and updated when?... if a reasonable span of time has passed since the update, resetting it may be necessary.

You had the Intel Core i7 5930K overclocked so I suppose the CPU voltage was running higher than stock voltage.. The 6800k's architecture is 14 nm versus the 5930k's 22 nm, and it should need less power... so, if you did not lower the CPU volts in the BIOS, it should be necessary.

If you replaced the thermal paste and are confident you did that correctly, and the fan(s) on the radiator are working, then I would suspect the pump is not working, either due to not having power or because it has died. Check out all those possibilities.

Both CPUs have around the same general specifications... Same TDP, power consumption, same relative performance, etc. and should work at the same temps so the only cause that comes to mind is the BIOS.. it may have auto adjusted cooler fan speed.. check the BIOS and Windows power options settings.. if settings are correct, try updating the BIOS.

**UPDATE**
Coming back with an update to all of you guys.

-Dudio: Yeap i am confident about the paste, all of my fans are working. I think is the pump that is the problem but everytime i turn on the pc i can hear the pump working but still high temps. Also when i tried to shake up the pc a bit so the water can move the temp dropped to ~60-65C for a minute. But i can hear the pump working... :/

-Cryoburner: I swapped cases because i am preparing a custom loop build so maybe there was a chance of bubbles but i always "shake" a bit the pc so the bubbles can go up.

-Mdd1963: The cpu is indeed identified in the bios but this shouldnt be the problem because the 3.1 rampage is exactly the same motherboard with the one i have here, the only difference is the pcie usb 3.1 that they added later when they released the 3.1 usb, thats why there isnt one on mine and there is one on the "newest". They just added they 3.1 usb using the pcie lanes.

-Chicano: BIOS is up to date and fans rpm are working in more than enough to cool down the cpu in idle. Power options are set to balanced.

This is so frustrating..
