My FX-8320 overclocked to 4.2GHz with a 1.3 Vcore and a Cooler Master 212 Evo

My temps went as high as 72!!! I dont know what happened but i really dont know what to do.. Should I get a better cooler or what? My temps have never gone about 50c while playing games and never gone above 61 while running p95 for 48 hours so I am really lost :( Thanks for the help!

Well you can run a push pull fan set up on the 212 ,, Also did you removed the heatsink and re- do the thermal paste? only a small pea size drop in the center is needed.. Do you have enough fans to pull the hot air out of your system? is there dirt dust or anything that needs cleaned. Worst case is you could always default to clock speed and remain cooler.

I have 1 fan in the back pushing air out, 2 fans in the front pulling in air and hitting the 212. which only has one fan pulling. I regularly clean out dust and such.

There is nothing to worry about, I fixed it! Or there was a fluke or something. I shut off my PC and blew out everything and I went back to GTA and my temps dont go above 55. Was that like a fluke accident with my temps getting that high? Cause that has never happened, and it only happened that one day. Never any other days when I was playing GTA

72c isn't too hot, but it's definitely hot. I and others also seem to be having heating issues with GTA V; my stock-cooled model jumped up to 80 at one point, and I've seen others say they've gone to 85c+ at maxed settings.

Dont worry Im all good! I play at pretty much maxed. Have a few settings down a little bit but otherwise everything is cracked up. It was a fluke accident. My temps dont go over 55 now while playing, and I play for 6 hours nonstop so
