CPU: Ryzen 7 5800x
GPU: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 Windforce
MOBO: ASRock B450 Pro4
RAM: G.Skill 2x8GB, Ripjaws V 3200MHz
PSU: Seasonic 650W FOCUS+ 650 Platinum
Cooler: MSI MAG CORELIQUID 360R

Problem is that the CPU is hitting 90 celsius while gaming and around 60 at idle, with random spikes up to 80. I bought the cooler around 6 months ago and everything was fine for like 5 months. A month ago the CPU started overheating while gaming so I replaced thermalpaste and it seemed like it fixed the problem. Now a month later and the problem is back. Probably first thing im gonna do is replace the thermalpaste again, but surely something is wrong? Thermalpaste shouldn't go bad in months? Seeking some help here.

There's a lot of threads with those Msi coolers specifically. Bad design, or poor QC.
Return it if possible, and get a completely different cooler.
Interesting. I unplugged and plugged back its cabels from the motherboard and now the temps seem normal again.

How about NZXT KRAKEN Z73 360MM, is it any good?
