CPU overheats during gaming. What's wrong?

Hello. Every time I try to play Saints Row or The Sims 3 my temperature goes WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY higher than it should

How do I fix this? I tried cleaning my computer out, but I doubt that's the problem. I had this problem even when it was newly cleaned, twice.

what sort of cooling do you have? and r u sure your cpu is good enough to handle gaming?

I got regular fans that came with my computer. I think an AMD 965 should be able to handle The Sims 3, a game from 2009.

did you build it yourself? if so you could have accidentally touched the plate on your heatsink which can mess up your thermal conductivity

Bought it off komplett.se, they assembled it for me.

mabye you should just replace the heatsink/fan

Have you re-seated the heatsink?

The phenoms can get phenomenally (no pun intended) hot.

If you haven't got one, and for overclocking purposes I would highly reccomend a cheap after market heatsink like..

Should keep your CPU sub 50degC temps and allow for overclocking.
