CPU Performance issues after tweaking bios

Hello all. So I recently decided to overclock my processor (Fx 6300) so I went into my bios settings, got it up to 4 ghz, but didnt really notice any performance increase. I decided jsut to revert back to the default settings. I did so, and now my pc is running very slow. My CPU's speed is stuck at 1.37 GHZ and some bios settings, such as disabling the cool n' quiet mode unlock this, but the cpu utilization is still low and the speed stays around 2 GHZ while gaming. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Try resetting the CMOS if you haven't already.

I actually fixed this last night. In the bios there was an option for "performance mode" so I just turned that on. PC is running just like it was before
