CPU Pin bent still ok?

Another friend just bought an duron
and

i was installing it and i dropped the cpu!!!!!!!!!!!!
DROPPED IT
a few pins were bent one was bad....

can i get some pliers and bend back?

This is my fault 100% but i mean anyone ever bent some pins before?

core is fine

of course. i bend pins every now and then, just straighten them back out. :smile:

Get a fine pair of long needle nose pliers, and be very careful. The pins are not meant to be bent, and can snap off easily. Try to straighten the pins by squeezing the pliers, rather then by bending the pins.

what works really good is a mechanical pencil. take out the lead and fit the hollow tube over the bent pin. bend it back into shape as you move down the pin. works really well1
