CPU possibly dead?

So recently I've run into a problem of my Computer turning off and not turning back on. Everytime I press the power button the LEDs turn on for a split second then turns off. When I unplug the CPU power cable from the mobo it stays on for a little longer (1-2 seconds) then shuts off again. Do I need to get a new CPU? Note: Dr_MOS Alarm is going off on my z77

Try a different power supply firstly.
