CPU+ Power + Chassis

I just recently bought the ASUS A7N8X-E deluxe MB and I notice that it has 3 Fan connectors, each with 3 pins (GND, +12V, Rotation). One is for CPU, one they call power connector and the third is chassis connector.

Now, I know how to install the CPU fan, but my case fans have no 3 pins wire, and instead have only those regular 4 pins power connectors. Am I right in my assumption that because of that I can't hook them up to my MB (where I could monitor them), but instead have to hook them up directly to the Power Supply.

Yup, that's what I do

On my rig, the psu cooling fan plugs into the mobo "power fan connector"

Lol, shame on me for not realizing that, and shame on Raidmax for not having the 3pin connector on their PSU so I can actually use that feature

Most power supplies that provide speed monitoring information do so with only the third wire on the 3 wire plug.

My power supply has a wire for me to plug, but no matter where I plug them, M/B is not able to detect the fan speed, why is that?
