Cpu power phase control:standard or extreme mode?

I got my new pc with the i5-8400 and the asus tuf b360m pro gaming motherboard and in AI suite 3 I found the cpu power phase controller.I want the maximum performance but am I risking anything or damaging anything by setting it to extreme mode.

I believe 'optimised or standard' setting should be best for you as this is an 8400 and should boost to maximum without needing anything extra push for stability and power.

It's a locked cpu using factory motherboard software. There's nothing you can do that'd be 'damaging' as such since the cpu will only use what it needs, regardless of what you give it.
