Hi guys I have just purchased an Asus Sabertooth 990fx R2.0 and I noticed 2 settings that I'm unfamiliar with. The 2 settings are as follows.

1: CPU power response control

Options are: (Auto) (Regular) (Medium) (Fast) (Ultra Fast)

2: CPU power thermal control

Settings are: 130-151 but I'm not sure what i.e degrees, TDP watts, etc...

These settings can be found in advanced mode under the Ai tweaker tab in DIGI+ Power Control.

My OCD is causing me a head ache🙁

Please let me know if you guys know whats up with these settings.

Oh yeah please don't flame me because I've look all over the web for the last hour with nothing even closely resembling my question.

Thanks and cheers!

Here's what your manual has to say about those settings found on page 4-23
"CPU Power Response Control
Provides a faster and precise power response rate for your CPU. Apply a higher value for extreme overclocking"

This setting has to do with your VRM and how quickly it responds to load changes

"CPU Power Thermal Control
A higher temperature brings a wider CPU power thermal range and extends the overclocking performance to enlarge O.C. potential."

That one is about temps, you will be looking at whatever the default temp readings (likely C) for the mobo/CPU

Unless you're looking for extreme clocks or are unhappy with the clocks you are attaining, I don't think I would be concerned with those settings. I personally don't think that using the highest settings there would provide for great longevity, at least I would be concerned enough to want to check voltages during transitions
