The 5950X is missing from the 5000 list.
Looks like I snagged that one at the perfect time. Got it for $430 a couple months ago, but it's currently back up to $500.

Yes, I made the call yesterday on that 12600kf at 150 bucks. I didn't really want to but it was either get it now or go without for a long time(because personal reasons) and it was too good to pass up, for me and my needs.
Now I hope to nab a good MB and ram over black Friday.
You missed 12th gen Intel. Prices are crazy on newegg.com right now...

I paid $409 for my 13900k a couple months ago on Amazon. The best deal I've ever seen on this chip, my only regret is not buying 2 of them!
That looks to be from a third-party seller on Amazon according to CCC. Was it used, open box, return, etc?

RIght! Crazy to include old Ryzen 5000 and neglect intel 12th. For budget though used is the way to go...
We deliberately left off Intel 12th gen because we don't endorse 12th gen right now. In every case we can think of, you get better value out of the 13th gen part. We haven't seen a price gap so big on 12th gen as to make it a bargain. Considering that 12th and 13th gen use the same motherboards, RAM, etc, there is no reason to buy 12th gen.

Ryzen 5000 series, OTOH, is still a good value because you're using the less-expensive AM4 motherboards and DDR4 RAM plus Ryzen 5000 parts are much cheaper than the equivalent Ryzen 7000 series.

IT would be great then to add an additional 2 columns to the 13th gen table (add the comparable 12thgen part[i.e. 12900k paired with the 13700k], and the current retail index price). Yes they are largely interchangeable and there are starting to be near clearance level deals on the 12th gen.

But I agree, 12th gen retail without discount is overpriced
A strong option though if used [ebay/local] or on clearance.
