Hello, everyone. I apologize if this sounds silly, but my CPU's been crazy lately. I know it's a voltage problem, because my UEFI bios and HWMonitor state voltages that ranges from 1.264-1.327 (sometimes higher) and some motherboard overvolt cpus on auto which is what my settings are right now. I also know that my i7 4790k tends to run on the hot side.
I am not looking to overclock.
The increase in temperatures is just too great to deal with. Even on idle, it ranges from 35-50c, sometimes increasing further. I can't play any games without the fear of my cpu getting fried, especially when it reaches ~94c+ and continues rising after playing for 5-9 minutes.
I know it's not a thermal paste or a mounting issue, because I've remounted the stock fans plenty of times, cleaned the cpu with 99% isopropyl alcohol, and reapplied thermal paste in more ways than one and in the most smallest amounts.
So, I've pinpointed that the problem has to do with the voltages. I don't know what the stock voltages for the 4790k are and I don't want to manually change it and end up making the problem either worse or making new ones, considering the fact I don't know what I'm doing. I need your help, guys. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
