Hey I don’t know if this is the right place to be asking this question but unfortunately I’ve been having cpu problems after I brought a $825 pc off market place. The pc works all fine but after downloading and hearing the pc it’s quite loud but I wasn’t worried because it’s loud of the aio, but I’ve seen a red light pop up whilst gaming and when i turn on my pc. Im unsure of what to do because I don’t want anything else to break and be a waste of $825

Detailed Specs:

Windows 10 Pro Activated

i5-7600K Overclocked to 4.8Ghz / 1.35v

16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-2133 Corsair Vengeance RAM

ASUS Strix Geforce GTX 980 4GB (pre Overclocked aswell)

Crucial P1 1TB nvme SSD

Corsair H100i Liquid Cooler

ASUS Prime Z270-A

Thermaltake Toughpower 550W 80+ Gold

Hi all so unfortunately my pc I have right now is having some cpu problems. I've bought this pc off the market place with no such issues with the buyer and overall but there is a single problem from my pc which I cannot figure out. Recently I tested ungine benchmark to test each specs and how they're doing, it was great. Gpu was working fine, fans were spinning, every light was on in the pc but I saw the temps on my cpu and tempatures were reaching around 79-80 and im pretty sure thats not really a great sign. Im worried that my cpu and break and I dont want this $825 gaming pc to be such a waste of money.

But I've also been seeing everytime I start up my pc there is a red light coming from the 'cpu led' and that with my tempatures, I've gotten real worried, I've also tried on fortnite to see if the game was like but again temps were high and this time the same red light came on and I had to exit the game before my cpu could've break to of a more damage. Same with warzone, just loading into it my temps are through the roof with 100c and solid red light. I don't know if my AIO is working as it should be but I do feel heat from my lines. I tried taking out my aio pump connecter out and straight back in again, still not working. Also my aio gets pretty loud but Im fine with that its just my cpu temps that I don't know what to do.

Pc Specs.

If I run my 7820X through Prime 95, Small FFT, without disabling AVX, it quickly hits 100C, and I can observe the motherboard throwing the red cpu light. So the LED also serves as a visual temperature warning.

That AIO is likely gunked up or dying. Replace it.

What if it isn’t a Temperature issue?

The cpu LED can appear for other reasons, but what you posted - such as the cpu hitting 100C - points to temperature.

Off the top of my head, the cpu LED also comes on when the cpu reaches 80C or higher during POST. Saw that in bios during my first application of liquid metal when applying too little.

Fix the temperature problem first, and then look to other what ifs...

I had an issue with AIO cooler which was due to malfunctioning. CPU was overheating and it was making this crackling noise. I fixed this by replacing it with a better model. What kind of noise is your cooler making then?

Im not sure because I haven't turned on my pc in a couple days since I don't want to cause any damage towards the component but before then it was just really loud. There was this sound it was making it was loud towards the actual cpu.

I went with NZXT Kraken X63 because I have a NZXT H510 Elite case so I can control all of them with the NZXT CAM software. This one is good and working for me. What case you have?
I have done some research and I found
Cooler Master Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition R2 CPU Cooler to be my best choice so far, I've had 'be quiet' as one and many others. But for Aio also from cooler master, is the Cooler Master MASTERLIQUID ML240L RGB V2 as my aio option but Im not sure if air cooled or aio.

Your case's radiator support goes like this.
Front: up to 360 mm
Top: up to 240 mm
Rear: up to 120 mm

Your case's fan support goes like this.
Front: 3 x 120 mm or 2 x 140 mm(3 x 120mm RGB Fan included)
Top: 2 x 120 mm or 2 x 140 mm
Rear: 1 x 120 mm(1 x 120 mm Black Fan included)

You need to follow these guidelines, so you don't get stuck in the installation process or face some other issues.
Just get something that fits your case well and fits your budget.
But for your CPU, you could do fine with that Cooler Master Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition R2.

Thanks for the info. If you got any other air cooled cpu cooler recommendations I would like some and finalise my decisions. Thanks mate.

I really don't have any, but I know that your cooler selection is okay for your CPU. I personally prefer to have some eye candy, so I have RGB fans and AIO cooler with good visuals.

Thing is though I just want a cooler that does its job very well. I like the rgb and all that but I am a guy that wants something done efficiently. If its an upgradable towards rgb then sure I might add some candy.
