is my CPU slowing down my gtx 1080 ti
do i have to buy a new CPU/ram/motherbored
to keep my pc running better

Game freeze's for 10-20-30 sec's and un freeze's
i was wondering if this is a GPU or CPU issues please reply with anwser or walkthru fix please and thank u

Solution

DDR4 is lower power and faster. No issue, the ram slots are keyed differently.
As a practical matter, all new kaby lake or ryzen processors will use DDR4.

The I7 will give you 4 more threads compared to a I5.
But... do you really need them?
Most games can use only 2-3 threads.
It is more important for gaming that the threads be fast.

You could experiment with removing one or more cores. You can do this in the windows msconfig boot advanced options option.
You will need to reboot for the change to take effect. Set the number of processors to less than you have.
This will tell you how sensitive your...

You will need to reboot for the change to take effect. Set the number of processors to less than you have.
This will tell you how sensitive your games are to the benefits of many threads.
If you see little difference, your game does not need all the threads you have.

If you now have adequate cooling for your FX-8370, it will be ok for kaby lake.
Your FX-8370 is a 125w processor.
I5-7600K and 7700K are 91w processors.

Solution
i7-7700K has a passmark rating of 12172, that is when all 8 threads are fully utilized. The single thread rating is 2585.
I7-7000 rating is 10808/2331.
6700K is 11009/2349.
Your FX-8370 is 8999/1530.
It is the slow single thread performance that is likely hurting you.

i am running 3 asus 144hz gaming monitors for 3way performance and single screen performance need cash later on to get acer 144hz ultrawide
but my biggest issue is i am gaming in ark i hav discord open for my server chat steam msgs and ark con and when i am in borederless fullscreen ark and my 3 monitors freeze up n stop and then 10-20-30 sec's they move again and minor lag on my server even when my ping is at 24

so i looked up issues or fixes nothing on em so i thought i ask Tomshardware myself cause i never had this issue until windows 10 and 1080ti so i am just hoping it is a CPU fix like i was told my 8370amd is bottlenecking my 1080ti

Running 3 screens you are not as limited by an 8370 as some would have you believe - as you wouldn't be by a 3440 x 1440 ultra wide (which I'm assuming is what you're thinking of)

Stability issues ? I have to ask again , what are your exact motherboard & PSU models ??
