CPU RED LED on ASUS M5A99FX PRO r2.0

I just built my desktop with

- Asus M5A99FX pro r2.0 (mobo)
- AMD FX-8350 (cpu)
- Rosewill RX850-S-B (psu)
The rest of the parts are irrelevant because I know they already work.
So the problem is that, even after reinstalling the CPU 3-4 times, while checking that the pins are not bent and that I put it in correctly, the CPU LED is a solid red when I plug it in. I made sure I had the cpu powered also. I don't know what the problem could be, does anyone know what the problem could be?

Does the CPU fan spin when starting the motherboard? If yes and still red CPU led, then it's either a CPU or motherboard issue. Probably the CPU.

try with am3 cpu not am3+ first...
i assume board not recognize cpu am3+, coz bios compatibilities

is cpu hot or not? when power on

Yes the fan does spin, also how can I tell which one is bad so I can return it?

On the motherboard's box it says compatible with AM3+

Now the CPU led is not red it went away, but now my VGA led is red, and my GPU's fan is not turning on, the GPU is the Sapphire Radeon R7 260x

PCIe cables? Don't you just put it into the PCIe slot and then plug in the power and you're good to go?

You're right. I've checked and the card does not require PCIe power cables. Try moving the card to the other PCIe slot. See if still red VGA.

The last 4 digits are 2501, and I have moved the card into all 4 PCIe x16 slots, the VGA led is still red.

Try testing the card in different PC, to make sure that it does work. If it does, it might be a board or CPU issue (try also testing with the board outside the case).

Yea the original problem with the CPU led was because I tightened the screws in too tight and it was bending the board. I tried testing with the board outside, and it still doesn't work. I will try testing it in a different PC, and how could it be a CPU issue? I would think if there is power going into the video card then the fan should be spinning, how does the CPU do anything? Just wondering
