I have the following components:
HX850 Corsair Gold power supply
2 of MSI 970 gtx
Haswell i7-4770 @ 3.8 Ghz
32 Gb of ram at 1333
Motherboard Asus Z87-A
4 basic case fans
Heat sink- enermax ets-t40
My problem is the following:
I just recently bought a 4K monitor and was running it with my one 970 with no problems, no shut downs. I wanted a higher fps so I bought the second identical gpu and sli'd them. Initial install everything is fine, system boots fine it idles fine I let it sit for about 4-5 hours no shut downs. I then proceed to play a game on 4K everything is fine for about 20-40 minutes then everything just quits screen goes black and computer reboots but no screen shows up and my CPU RED LED comes on. It has no problem once I shut it off and reset the computer it boots up instantly after this with no problem. I checked my cpu temp right after gaming and it was only 39 Celsius , and no heat coming from it. I was fine before I hooked up my second gpu, my assumption is that it's my power supply but I am not sure. I believe it is shutting down because under stres of not being able to supply what I need.
Any help would be much appreciated
