CPU Red light...not getting past post...ASUS Z-87A mother board with i7 intel processor

I haven't found a real answer across all these posts. Is it the bois...set my to default and it hasn't fixed the problem. Is it the Motherboard?

I'm not a super geek, so please go easy on the super tech terms.

There are several issues that could cause that issue.
Failing motherboard, incompatible PSU, BIOS settings, etc.
Try this:
Enter the Bios and turn disable PLL Over voltage.
If that does not do it.
Try this:
Enter BIOS and disable CPU C6 and C7 Report
