CPU Replacement Problem

Solution
If the pc will run, turn it in and run something to heat up the cpu and the thermal paste to make it easy to remove.

The tops of the screws look looks a square which probably needed a special wrench to tighten.
If you can't find a wrench to fit, try using the tip of a needle nosed plier to torn the screw counter clockwise.

Also check the back side of the motherboard to see if there is perhaps something like a Philips head screw.

Those springs are on screws, the heads have a hex at least and should have phillips centers. Back them off 4 - 5 turns diagonally in an X not around a circle to release pressure then continue until the screws are loose.

Gently twist the block to free the thermal paste and remove it.
