CPU ring voltage?

I have a 4790K and its stable at 4.4 ghz 1.156 volts im not overclocking just trying to reduce temps. I was wondering what should I set ring voltage to? At auto my temps go to like 66C with it set to 1.2v they are like 60-62C I was wondering how low the ring voltage can go? Can it match the vcore? please help to understand where it should be at

when I run my cache speed up to unstable, the system won't post. it'll keep restarting and not post. I then have to clear the bios and start from stock settings. I can then reload my o/c settings.
ring voltage, is cache voltage. you can reduce ring voltage too, so long as the system is stable. if you raise the cache clock, then you'll need to test the system and possibly raise ring voltage. imagine the cache as the core, and treat it accordingly. My ring voltage is a bit higher than the core voltage, I have my cache speed set to 4.5 to match the core clock. very small overclock. my ring voltage is 1.3 volts. my core voltage is 1.16 volts
 
I put it as 1.151v for ring 1.156v for core at 4.4ghz and temps went down by 8-10C so it definately helped. So far its stable. I think its cuz it was on auto and that put it at around 1.28v

Solution
I was only switching stuff to make my temps go down I set cache voltage back to auto and left the cpu voltage at 1.156 volts. My temps now max out at 55C and during games runs 45-53C. My problem was the backplate on my corsair h60 was sideways so the little ridges where the cpu socket screws align I had it sideways so the cooler wasnt making contact all the way I remounted it reapplied mx-4 and now temps are nice and can easily OC with these temps
