Question CPU running at 100% while GPU at 1-2%

CPU:i5 7600k
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-B250M-D3h
RAM: 8gb at 2666 MHZ
GPU: EVGA gtx 1080ti FTW3

The problem occurs while playing Battlefield 5. I'm playing on 2440x1440 resolution witch is native to my monitor. I've tried playing on max/low settings, trying to with DX12 and without and so on. The CPU usage is staying at 95-100% while GPU never reaches double digit. There is not thermal throttle.

edit: I've run skyheaven benchmark and it worked fine with cpu at 50% and gpu at 100%

Have you checked to make sure cpu is on the mobo correctly? Try a diferent resolution with low settings and see.

The cpu is placed fine, I've tried both 2k and 1080p resolutions.

Are you plugged into the motherboard and not the GPU?

What's your ram usage while playing? What kind of framerates are you getting?

Game demands for BFV will max out a 4 core 4 thread chip. There's nothing that can be done about that except upgrade to a higher core count processor.
