I ran a ryzen 9 3900x for three seconds with just a waterblock (no liquids). The pc still runs fine...but have I damaged the cpu already?
The temps couldn't have gone up to that high, right? It was simply trying to enter the bios. You could have, depends on what the temps got up to.
To fill the waterblock without the cpu running requires unplugging several cables and jumping the psu. Its just too much work for me...The real question is why would you run it like that.
will ryzen shut down when the temps go past safe ranges like intel processors do?CPU temps can spike past maximum within seconds without a proper cooler.
