AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Processor
RAM: 16 GB
Storage: 1 TB HDD & 256 GB SSD
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 6 GB
Name: PCSPECIALIST Tornado R5 if that helps

Been playing 7 days to die (on medium settings realistically) recently, the pc gets up to around 85/90 degrees when playing. Sometimes jumps up to 90~95 at certain points.

I have tried limiting the processor power which has helped, but this is limited to something like 30% of its power just to get it to a reasonable temperature which I obviously don't want to be doing.

Any recommendations?

Thermal paste hasnt been changed since date of purchase which was Feb 2021. Although for a good couple of years it was only used a couple of times a week at best. Not sure what the standard cooler is fitted, could maybe do with updating this.

I see listings for the Tornado R5 but they don't match the specs of what you listed above. What sort of cooler are you working with? Make and model of your motherboard? See if the board is pending any BIOS updates.

You might want to use a high quality thermal paste and see if your temps drop. Would also be a good idea to see what your idle system temps and resource usages are like.

What OS are you working with?

Thanks for the response.

Thats the link for what I purchased, I think they do several different versions now hence the confusion. The only change was I upgraded it to 16gb RAM.

I am at work at the moment so will have to check those details when I get home. It would be the standard cooler that came with the PC. How would I check if it is pending any BIOS updates?

Of the top of my head I think the Idle temp was around 60 which sounds quite high to me.

OS is Windows 10

The stock cooler is a type of air cooler called a downdraft. They draw the bulk of their air from the side.
When we moved to this trend of tempered glass side panels and gpus dumping their waste heat inside cases, they suffered. They need ventilated side panels to do well.

A tower air cooler or AIO is the solution to this.
