Discussion CPU Running Hot While Idle

I have an intel i5 - 6500 CPU on an MSI H110i Pro MB with a stock intel fan cooler. Upon startup, it runs hot around 80-90F and if I try opening up any type of application it quickly gets up into the 100sF. The cpu itself was bent in the corners when I tried mounting it on a MB that wouldn't fit but on my H110i it boots up just fine, no problems besides the cooling. Was wondering, could the bent corners be causing the cooling problem or is it safe to let the cpu run at 100+ for long periods of time?

Any help would be great. I'm also having troubles getting my GTX 660 GPU to work on the motherboard (drivers won't successfully install) but that's for another discussion.

Thanks,
