[SOLVED] Cpu runs and pc turns on but fan sputters on and off then off

CPU runs and PC turns on but fan sputters on and off then off its a ryzen 9 and the build is a week old all parts compatible and i was using it. it had a random crash now and then and i applied new thermal paste now when i turn it on the computer boots but the fan light flickers and the fan sputters and then completely stops. the boot screen says cpu fan failure but still boots up. not sure if i need a new processor a new fan for it or if its something else almost looks like when a lamp has a loose or damaged wire.

It sounds like a weak connection to the fan. I would check the fan plug and socket for anything unusual. I would also inspect the wires and where they went into the fan.

If I didn't find anything I would replace the fan.

UPDATE: it was the fan wire got a new cooler and its perfect thank you.
