CPU Selection (Streaming & Gaming @60FPS 720)

Hello, I'm searching for some opinions from other computer nerds such as myself.

I am currently in the process of upgrading my intel core i3 3220 for streaming , rendering videos , Gaming while recording or streaming (Dayz standalone , Arma II DAYZ , FIFA 15 , Nba 2k etc) I also render in sony vegas and premiere pro and record with dxtory and stream with OBS

My budget is preferably under 400 dollars.

My rig is an Intel Core I3 , GTX 660 , 8GB Pny Ram 1333 , Asus B75 Motherboard , CX 600 PSU.

should I grab an Intel core i7 3770 and just keep my motherboard. I dont plan to overclock so I dont need a "k" edition or anything. Or an 8350 , with a cheap 970 mobo. Or a intel haswell cpu like an I5 4670k or and save my money or even an i7 4770 with a cheap mobo. Please help me as I am lost. Will the I5 out preform the 8350? I dont even know guys, I am interested into what you all have to say and ultimately you guys will be choosing my cpu. Thank you! 😀

Also, I suggest you upgrade your gpu to gtx 970 or 980.

A 3770 will do the job, you can also look for a xeon 1230 v2, which is basically a i7 without integrated graphics, but is cheaper than a i7, save yourself some money staying with that motherboard and start saving for another gpu.

To be honest I dont need a new GPU, I just got this one less than a year ago so its gonna be a while until i get a new gpu.

You should buy a new motherboard (Z97 or H97).

And the point is, he has a board capable of supporting an i7 3770 or a xeon e3-1230v2.
Those cpu's cost about $240.
Now, if he was to buy an i7 4790, he'd pay $290 for the cpu and $90 on the motherboard. Thats §380.

$380-$240=$140. He'd literally spend $140 for barely 5% performance improvement.

Now, if he was to buy an i5 4690, he'd pay $200 for that plus $90 for the board, resulting in $290.
Thats still $50 wasted for getting LESS performance.

I think that you're talking about the 1231 v3, thats a 1150 socket cpu, be carefull when chosing those, they have very similar names.

A problem has occured, My motherboard's website does not mention xeon support. Is that a problem? I have an ASUS B75

It has a igpu, stick with the 1230 v2, its a better deal.
