Cpu sits at 85-90c on 6% load

I just got a brand new i7-8700k and a new h150i corsair liquid cooler. I start my computer and my corsair link says. My cpu runs at 85-90c on all six cores. Ive tried reseating it, repasting it. Nothing seens to work. The mount on my liquid cooler doesnt sit tight with the bracket it came with and starting to think thats the issue of it not hugging the cpu right. Any ideas?

The bracket should have come with 2x sets of standoffs that are color coded. Sounds like you chose the wrong set. Intel cpu's I believe have the silver set and amd have the black set. But if the pump is not tight to the cpu, that's the problem.
