CPU Socket backplate blocks cooler

I just got a 1366 board to go with my i7 950, and I have a hyper t4 to put on the 950. The backplate on the motherboard has these little screw holes for the heatsink bracket, and the bracket is just meant to be pushed through the board. The backplate is easily removed, but the socket that holds in the spu comes off as well, and that's not OK. Anything you guys can do to help.

Just for clarification, we are using backplate and bracket incotrectly.
the backplate is the black X that you can't get to fit. The backplate you can't get to fit because the silver CPU bracket is very large....

Because it is also a backplate!

The silver deal appears to me to be an aftermarket backplate/bracket combo. It functions as the bracket for the CPU as well as the backplate for the cooler!

You have two options.

First see if your cooler is compatible with the silver bracket. They are pretty standardized and it might just fit. This is by far the easiest option as it doesn't require you to source any parts.

Second option would be to try and source a factory 1366 CPU bracket that will fit underneath your black X style backplate. Just like the one in the picture I linked.

It doesn't fit, I'll have to make an attempt to find a CPU bracket. but good luck to me as even finding the motherboard for a half decent price was difficult. Thanks for the help.
