Hello.

I managed to bend a CPU socket pin on my motherboard, and it does not start anymore. The fans start spinning and then turn off within a second.

I've tried a different CMOS battery, and changing the RAM configuration, and none of that has worked, which confirms my suspicion it is the bent pin. Here's a picture of what it looks like:

And here's a couple other pictures I took of the socket. link

This happened to me with a P4 before, and I was able to bend the pin back up using my fingers. However, I have tried doing that with a office pin with a bent tip, and I am unable to get it straight again.

How do I get the pin straight again? Can I get a socket replacement? What are my options? The motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H with a LGA1155 socket.

My smallest screwdriver is not small enough to allow me to do that. It will touch 2 pins at once at least. The distance between the pins is very small, I had to take this picture through a magnifying glass to be able to differentiate. I also went to a computer shop and they told me to take it to a motherboard specialist.

The tip of a pen is still too big to do that. I tried a tip of a pin and I couldn't get it to bend back.

I tried to find a credit card thin enough to fit in that small space, and couldn't. Also, due to the bent pin being on edges from two sides, this won't work.

I tried it with the tip of a pin, and while it is small enough, I was unable to get it back in shape. My hand is pretty shaky and I am afraid I might rip the pin out.
