I have asus rog rampage vi apex x299 motherboard with 20 to 30 socket pins bent and socket replacement is the only solution, i am aware it might not work and i already have another board in and working great as daily driver, i wanna do this myself and my plan is to wrap the whole board in 4 to 5 layers of high heat resistant tape exposing just the socket above and below it which i already did and now i plan to place it in the electric oven at 450 to 500f and leave it until socket gets loose, i am not sure if this will cause any damage which i am not concerned about but if i do get socket out without any damage and clean up all the solder my problem is how to solder the new socket probably the same way just described but not sure if it will align properly or socket will move when solder is melting, just a fun experiment, thanks for any ideas.

  1. This is highly unlikely to work.
  2. Don't do this in an over you actually cook food in.
The heat resistant tape will do nothing. The whole board is still going to get hot. Thereby melting all the other solder points.
