CPU Speed GHz

I have a i7 4790K (not overclocking) and i have just noticed in the task manager that the speed is 4.16 - 4.20 GHz....anyone know why this is happening? Could this be capped to 4.00 GHz. I don't have any high performance settings on in power options or bios. I guess lowering this could also slightly help with CPU temps maybe?

The i7 4790k has turbo boost up to 4.4ghz. You can disable this in the bios.

this CPU can go all the way up to 4.4Ghz without overclocking.

First task manager is a horrid way to check CPU clocks it is frequently wrong. Use CPU-z

Regardless your CPU even without an overclock can turbo up to 4.4GHZ when temps, cores used and voltages allow.
