Hello, I have an Intel i5 750 processor running at default speed. I used CPU Speed Pro to check the actual speed. The results were: Description- Intel Core i5 @ 2.67Ghz. Published Speed- 2.7Ghz. Actual Speed- 2814Mhz(2.8Ghz). I am curious as to how the rated default speed of the cpu of 2.67Ghz is actually running at 2.8Ghz not overclocked. Also, what does the "Published Speed" mean. Thanks to anyone for thier help.

What you two are saying is all good and well but we are talking about a difference of 133MHz. This is not normal.

Check this speed in the bios. Is it also 2.8GHz? Perhaps CPU speed pro is flawed. I have never heard of that program. I use CPU-z.

Maybe that program makes the i5's turbo kick in? This would add the extra 133mhz for the 2.8ghz it measures.

The 920 does that at stock for me as well, I never actually see 2.66ghz in CPU-Z at load/idle due to turbo and speedstep.
