No idea what happend to my cpu here,

My CPU was overcooked from the people I bought it off (good company) about 7 years ago.
My CPU is a 4670k

I changed my power management from balanced to performance but now my cpu is stuck at 3.6ghz
Under no load what so ever, so I changed it back to balanced and it's made no difference, I'm looking in the BOIS and can't see any power saving option that could have been turned off somehow

I'm abit stuck here, any help I would appreciate

Thank

Yes it is, I've fixed the power management so it's backed to balanced, so now I'm trying to overclock it back to 4.2ghz and it's runs it fine but has soon as I reboot it says it can't boot with these settings so I have to go back to old clock

Haven't done this sort of thing in years haha

Cheers for the reply

Since it is a K cpu you might wanna turn off the boost and set your Multiplier to a Fixed Value like 42 to keep constantly getting that clock speed. But i am not really familiar enough to Overclocking to give those kind of advices so you might wanna make some searches about it on the google.

That's what I've done, ive also had to turn off some of the power saving modes that are enabled in the bois because it was making it unstable, I've got it running fine now, only thing is that if I turn my pc on it will say it's unstable but if I just go to bois and save and exit and boot again it works no problems 😂 any ideas hah
