I work on a large Angular 5/Typescript project using Node/Webpack/etc. My code base is 150,000 lines after 5 months of development, it has quite a number of vendor libraries as these types of apps usually do, and it's growing all of the time.
Performing an AOT build takes about 2.5 minutes with my current computer, which is an i7-3770 @ 3.40GHz. The motherboard is an Asus P8Z77-V. I have a 128gb SSD and 16 gigs of DDR3 ram. I got everything 5 years ago.
What CPU would make build times a lot faster, or would it? I really want to upgrade if it will actually make a big difference. A 1 minute or less build time, along with WebStorm figuring out stuff faster would be wonderful.
I was thinking about an Intel I7-7700K processor and all new hardware - especially those M.2 solid state drives.
Any thoughts and suggestions?
