Hello,

I am thinking about building a new computer, the computer will be used for web browsing.
Would a core i3 6100 be good? I was thinking a core i5 6600K for long term performance value. The case i have in mind is a thermaltake core V-21.

Thanks

if its just for web browsing, i dont see why you would need the i5 over the i3. if anything i would say go with more RAM. if youre anything like me, you like a lot of tabs. like for some reason i have 26 tabs open right now, and my web browser is probably using about 5 GB of RAM by itself lol.

You see, if you are getting this build purely for surfing the internet, You can get even a Pentium. But for the applications you'll be using in the future, your decision on going for an i5 is good. But consider getting a 550W PSU so that in case if you wanted to add an external GPU you might not want to change the PSU.

Thanks, also do you think temperature will be a major issue since the case is a micro-atx. The mobo has 1 case fan header, so i guess a fan splitter would probably be necessary. The computer my parents currently have, has a oem version of windows 10 installed, i believe i cant just swap the ssd?

I don't think cooling would be a problem... the case looks well ventilated and the Overview emphasizes on "Optimized Ventilation". So, no I don't see a problem with it.

Right Windows 10 OEM was made to stay on the same motherboard... the BIOS registers the product key code so it can't be moved. It may be made to work but it would deactivate and reactivation on a different motherboard would fail.
