[SOLVED] CPU Support Ambiguity

My config is motherboard Lapcare G31 (Link to mobo website -> https://www.lapcare.com/product/lapcare-g31-chipset-motherboard-socket-775-lpmg31/), Intel Dual Core E5300, 4 gigs of DDR2 RAM, Seagate 1TB HDD and PSU 550W.
I want to upgrade this system.
For GPU I am planning to buy Nvidia GT710 GDDR5 2GB.
For CPU upgrade, a seller on Amazon told me that that my mobo supports upto Core 2 Quad Q9400 because its FSB is 1333Mhz but the Core 2 Quad isn't mentioned anywhere on the CPU support list on the mobo website.
So, is Core 2 Quad supported or not ? Has anyone tried this kind of thing ?
And btw if not Core 2 Quad then I will go with Core 2 Duo E8500, will that be worth it ?

Some CPU-infos:

https://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-Intel_(chipsets)/G31_Express.html

But I never heard before about that chipset and lapcare.

And therefore , if really supported by the MB , chipset, northbridge etc., I have no idea, if a BIOS-update is neccessary, if board-power enough for stronger CPUS etc.

My personal opinion:

Thinking about upgrading such an old hardware ( about 12 years old, even with DDR2) is nonsense. Every cheap new PC with 4 cores and perhaps SMT (AMD or INTEL, does not matter) will be much better. Same with todays cheap GPUs, either from AMD or NVIDIA.

You guys are correct. I also know that upgrading such an old system doesn't makes sense. But the thing is I don't have that much money for a new build (even for a basic one).
With Core 2 Quad of out the scope, please tell me this if I use a Nvidia GT710 2GB GDDR5 with Core 2 Duo E8500 will that upgrade be worth it considering the tight budget.
and btw this system will only be used for taking online classes and for playing some older titles nothing much.

Thank you Guys
Now I got it
Its not worth it
Whoever reading this and having a system configuration 12+ years old. Please don't waste your time searching for compatible components.
Instead save some money and buy a new system or build one for yourself. It would be cheaper and can easily last for 10 years as your current system has.
