CPU support for asrock 970 extreme3

Can the asrock 970 extreme3 support the fx8350? Its not the on the list from asrock but people say it can if the bios is updated. Any help?

Who ever said that it will not work is idiot or dosent have any clue of components

So its good to go? Its not on the supported list from asrock but i figured it should work.

look here for the BIOS releases regarding your MObo, and update if you find something interests you.

ASrock doesn't recommend users to update the BIOS if their system is already running normally
if you like the fine tuning and tweaks here and there, make sure you read the "how to" carefully.

ya. how much do you think will be the performance difference if you update the bios or do not?

two days ago i built my latest PC, and EVGA recommended updating the BIOS before inserting the card.
i do not think it is a bad idea to update it, if you know your way around and especially if your are still within the warranty limit.

Did some reading with 970 r.2.0 you wont need to update bios out of the box, but have you bought the mobo allrdy or what?

I have had this desktop for a while just looking to upgrade from the fx4100 btw i don't have the r2 that's why I'm not sure if its supported.

I don't know if performance would be better, I just want to make sure the cpu would be compatible with/out a bios update

Yea it should work, it must work cuz its am3+ socket, but if u seek around in tomshardware there are many people who has same mobo and cpu working perfectly. Its just that you may need to upgrade bios to newer one to get all features but not neccesarly but overall it will work im 100% sure
