I have an oc'd I5 9600k and I am looking at the I9 9900k, do I need to reset the settings on my I5 to factory or is it just plug and play?
I have a Z390 Aorus Pro mobofirst all parts name and model in system also before switching gpu made sure your board could use it and bios version is up to date for it .
I did it via command prompt and it says F11, so any of the I9s should work?in your board user manual they tell you how to acces bios and you could see thhe version it use .
So i am not finding how I can add a picture of it. I still have the box that shows 9th gen support on box, optane memory, and z390 chipset. Shows 1151 socket, rev 1.0, supports 8th gen as well, 4 ddr4, 2-CH/PCI-Ex16/ATX, USB 3.1/GbE LAN/M.2 socket 3, Type-C/7.1-CH HD Audiothere is something wrong because link page to motherboard does not have f 11 so made sure you have the real name of board post picture of it .
I searched how to find out bios version. I found two ways, cmd prompt, and windows+R and msinfo32, both have said F11, date is 10/15/19 American Megatrendsit is the same board that i link you the bios version or from another maker .
I have a monster air cooler, Noctua NH-U12A I believe inside a Lian Li lancool 2 with 4 case fans that are all noctua as wellhttps://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z390-AORUS-PRO-rev-10/support#support-dl-bios
If you have F11, you are good to go for an i9-9900K upgrade. The F11 BIOS even updates some microcode related to the 9900K(S?) so you're absolutely fine.
Make sure you have adequate cooling. The 9900K guzzles power.
Well then, if the BIOS version claims to be F11, you are good to go. Enjoy.I have a monster air cooler, Noctua NH-U12A I believe
Doing it now@My1stbuildAMD Restart the PC, press DEL repeatedly to enter the BIOS. Switch to "Easy Mode". Look in the top left, should say BIOS Ver.: F11. If that is correct, you're good to go.
I had one of those Z390 Aorus Pro, and mine came with BIOS version F11 pre-installed.
It shows bios version is F11. Ordering now! Thank you everyone for your help!@My1stbuildAMD Restart the PC, press DEL repeatedly to enter the BIOS. Switch to "Easy Mode". Look in the top left, should say BIOS Ver.: F11. If that is correct, you're good to go.

I am on the gigabyte aorus pro support page, should I just update my bios with the two versions that outdate mine? Jelly of your GPU and RAMEven if you have issues, you could always swap back to the i5, update the BIOS, and try the 9900K again. 😉
Which two versions? I only see F12l above your F11.I am on the gigabyte aorus pro support page, should I just update my bios with the two versions that outdate mine? Jelly of your GPU and RAM
The F11 that is showing is 13 days newer than what my PC shows as the date for the F11 update, I believe it was 10/15. Didn't know if I should download that ?maybe a patch? F11 from 10/28, and then download the F12 version as well?Which two versions? I only see F12l above your F11.
Avoid F12l, it's a beta BIOS.The F11 that is showing is 13 days newer than what my PC shows as the date for the F11 update, I believe it was 10/15. Didn't know if I should download that ?maybe a patch? F11 from 10/28, and then download the F12 version as well?
