CPU switch dual core

Hello, I was just wondering if this cpu: http://www.amazon.com/Intel-E8400-Processor-Socket-LGA775/dp/B00116SLYY will fit in my lga 755 socket optiplex 755 MT. And is it an upgrade to my current cpu? my current cpu is an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E6750 @ 2.66ghz. Just wondering because I heard that cpu power is not only about ghz. Thanks

Not that noticeable but can give you a boost. I suggest getting a completely different PC. LGA775 is old stuff.

Make sure you mobo's BIOS supports it.
