CPU temp 93 degrees i7-4770k + H100i

Hi I just bought i7-4770k and H100i (fans at exhaust) and at stock 3.5ghz my temp reached 93c at full load. I have already re-seat the block, apply new thermal paste but still the same temp. Corsair link showed that the pump is at 2259 rpm and fans at 1943 so it means that the cooler is working. Could it be my psu causing increase in temp?? CPU vcore at 1.00

I was using i5-4570 before with seidon 120v and highest temp when in 100% load is only 72c. So I am just confused why the temp in i7 reached almost 100c

Proc: i7-4770k 3.5 ghz
CPU cooler: H100i with 2 SP120 High Perf
Mobo: Gigabyte z87m-d3h
PSU: Corsair VS 550 watts
GPU: Asus gtx 760 2GB
RAM: g.skill ripjaw 2x4gb 1866
HDD: toshiba 500gb + WD Black 1TB
Case: Fractal arc mini r2. 3 fans as intake and 3 fans as exhaust.

That is way hot especially with a liquid cooler imo... You are sure the liquid is moving freely through the tubes correct? there are no clogs? Could be a bad chip which is extremely rare and i doubt that is the issue. Conservative Voltage is 1.25 really.. so you are ok there. if you have another cooler i would test the stock fan see if that makes a difference this way you can see if it is a problem with the cooler itself. I suspect the liquid is not flowing properly.

I don't know how to check if the liquid is moving freely. I tried my previous cooler seidon 120v and the temp was 85 degrees. Lower than the h100i but still close to 90 degrees.

one way is to put your fingers over the tube on the evacuate line see if it is getting warm.

I'd suggest to check again all the cable connections, verify that there are no cables obstructing or contacting your CPU heatsink fan and it is spinning. If the problem persists I advice you to get a new PSU 550W 80Plus Bronze model from a reputable brand Seasonic, XFX...Even with the i5-4570, your temps were still to high. What case do you have and how many fans?

I can't feel any warmness on the tubes but there's some kinda pressure on it.

I am using fractal arc mini r2. 3 fans intake and 3 fans (including the 2 fans in h100i) as exhaust. I just suspected that it was my psu since the cooler and cpu seems fine and I read from some websites that bad psu can affect cpu temp.

So you're using the h100i fans blowing through radiator, right? try checking the temps with the side open and see, fractal arc mini r2 it's a bit smaller so it needs a good airflow inside especially when the graphic card kicks in. Also check the room temperature

I already had the side open when I got the 90c. GPU temp is around 72c and room temp about 27c.

I guess that's the best option for now. I will try the stock cooler tomorrow and if there's no change then I will get a new psu.. I'll update you about the results. Thanks!

As K6 said i would get a higher wattage better quality PSU but what you have is not low quality really. Would be wise to test another PSU if you can. I am suspicious that the corsair you have is causing your issues honestly. Process of elimination!

But ya report back i am curious on what is causing your high temps.

This is a good point, very possible and in fact more likely the heatsink from the cooler is not making good contact with the chip. Also make sure you have the right amount of thermal paste.

(remember too much or too little Thermal Paste can give you high temps.)

That's because stock cooler uses less voltage than H100i or Seidon, so it won't drain all the power from PSU. Here are some suggestions

It's Ok, and if you decide to add another graphic card in the future ( SLI) you won't need to change your PSU again. So it's a good future investment

SOLVED!!! I bought the Seasonic X-750 Gold PSU and idle temp is down to 30 degrees and full load is 55-60 degrees....For me this is a really good temp and I'm now confident to overclock the cpu ... THANKS for all the suggestions guys
