Question CPU temp and core values not showing anymore

Hi everyone,

OpenHardware Monitor has always done a good job to showing me CPU cores and CPU Temp in the widget, but yesterday, out of the blue and without having updated/installed anything, it stopped showing those values. So I tried LibreHardware Monitor, to no avail.
I have also installed Sidebar Diagnostics but nothing, still not showing values. Actually, CPU cores are shown for the very few first seconds after Windows boots, then it shows frozen values, and eventually this: "-". The same thing goes for the CPU temp.
LibreHardware Monitor and OpenHardware Monitor are both showing "-" instead of the values.
All other monitoring apps DO show the values though. Using HWinfo or other softwares is not an option. Please I just need to understand why it stopped working.
Anybody wanting to dig with me into finding the culprit, please?
Thanks

Why? I don't like it, that's it. I don't want to start a topic whether if I should love or not HWInfo, but I just want to find out why what has been working for years it is now not workign anymore. For the sake of science, if you like.
Having that said, system specs have not changed, as well as all the rest. Same Intel i7 cpu, nvidia 1060 gpu, 32mb ram, SSDs, Nvme, blah blah. It's not important, buddy, as evrything worked till yesterday and my system is the same.
I highly suspect it's a driver/software somthing related issue, but I can't figure it out.
I'm on Windows 11 pro up to date.

I didn't say to love it or otherwise, only that it's the better off all those apps, and prob works as intended.

As you've pointed out (and me too), this is likely a software issue. There may be some native Windows app, that could be causing a bug/messing with a driver. Perhaps the sensors aren't been read correctly, or sensors are gone on the CPU mobo.
Given you've said that other apps do report the temp/cpu's correctly, then it's the software. As mentioned, one of them hasn't been updated since 2020.

Are all system drivers and bios up to date?

Might be worth a try but run sfc/DISM and make sure there's no corrupt windows files: https://support.microsoft.com/en-au...em-files-79aa86cb-ca52-166a-92a3-966e85d4094e

I guess that if sensors were gone in the CPU mobo then values wouldn't be shown in any app.
I don't understand why some apps can read those values whereas others can't, and I'm wondering if those values can be gathered from different sources. Any idea?
Yeah, I refreshed the bios, and I'm using the word refresh rather than updated because it was already up to date, downloaded all the updates from Windows update (but I do that every day and it installed nothing yesterday), and I also ran both SFC and DISM.
I will try to load windows only with what is essential without any software loading and boot and see if there's a difference (if I remember how to do that. The last time I tried that I got stuck at logon as a some Windows service for the PIN was not loaded. 😓

@Roland Of Gilead After 2 days battling with my computer, and having tried anything up to my possibilities and knowledge and digging into the web here and there, contacting the developer on GitHub, trying this and that, I sadly had to give up, format the computer and re-install Windows, as well because it was behaving weird also on other things. I'm sure there were no viruses or such, as Kaspersky scanned the whole thing and there were no dodgy processes running. I appreciate your help, buddy. Unfortunately I am not able to provide a solution to the community in case someone were going to face the same issue... Sorry for having wasted your time. Very much appreciated your help though 🙏
