hey everyone
my cpu i5 3470 , when i play the witcher 3 wild hunt the cpu temp goes very high , higher than the gpu temp , some times reach 76c or 79c while gpu only 65-70c , the game some times quit it self due to the high temp , i want to know if this game depend on the cpu more than gpu? or theres something wrong with my cpu? i didnt got this problem before except for watch dogs only
the room temp about 37-40c , and using the stock fan , no cooler installed
thanks

Solution
Considering the room temperature this is not that surprising with the stock cooler, you could always invest into an aftermarket cooler and see if it helps
They aren't that expensive *Coolermaster Hyper T4, Evo 212* plenty of others are in the same price range with good cooling capabilities

Well yah those are the temps i would expect with the stock cooler, i doubt anything is wrong with your cpu. Witcher 3 is a large complicated game and i would expect it to push your cpu and gpu hard. What do you mean the game quits? It crashes?

Hmm I dont think the cpu getting a little warm would cause that. How often does it do this? I have heard from reviews that the witcher 3 just crashes sometimes. Angry joe said in his review the game crashed several times during his playthough so it could just be a problem with the game, but if its doing it a lot it could be a problem with your pc.

it do that randomly not every time , but i noticed that it do that when i play long time , more than 2 hours
but some times after it quits i check the cpu temp sometime it reach 79-80c , is that ok? , and to be in safe i will try to get a good cooler ASAP

I think the Tcase for that CPU is in 65-70C range but either way it's not an ideal temperature
If the game crashes it is indeed not necessarily related, but the way OP described it sounds like one of those things where the PC locks up and even though it could be for various reasons it could very well be because of the temperature

My CPU temperature is high 60s low 70s when I play Witcher 3. My CPU is an FX-9370 and I have a Xigmatek Dark Knight II cooler. I'm a little alarmed by these temperatures. Idle temps are way lower around the 20s. I might try cleaning off the thermal paste and applying some new paste.

I have an Antec 1200 with a huge 200mm fan on top of the case. My Xigmatek fan faces the top fan of the Antec 1200. Is that the proper setup?
