CPU Temp at 79 only while Gaming

Hey all, first time PC build and I'm running into an odd issue with my CPU temps.

I've got an i7 4790 chip with an aftermarket cooler, an EVGA GTX970 with ACX 2.0. I used a Silverstone HTPC case but outfitted it with all Noctua fans...two 80mm exhaust, one 80m intake, and two 120mm intake. 16gb RAM, Asus motherboard. Here's what I'm observing.

CPU while idle runs at around 29 - 31 degrees C when I first start the system up. When I run Prime95 and the CPU gets up to 100%, I observe CPU temps in the mid 50’s to low 60’s even over a prolonged period of time.

When I game, however, my GPU will get up in the 70’s, and my CPU will stay in the low 70’s but occasionally peak up at 79 degrees. My theory is that my GPU is dumping too much heat into the case because with CPU only my temps are fine.

Is my theory correct? And if so...any ideas? I already reseated my GPU further from my CPU and picked up a few degrees from that, also removed and reinstalled the CPU cooler and thermal paste. Now what?

Another thought - I notice that my fans never get up to 100%...think it's as easy as tweaking the fan profile to spin up a little faster?

Thanks for any advice!

PS I'm playing Fallout 4 on ultra settings if that helps.

Intel CPU temps below 80*C. are perfectly safe. You have nothing to worry about.

I played a bit more and it peeked up to 81 once or twice according to the logs, mostly stayed in the low to mid 70’s. Says Fallout is running the processor at around 87%.

Think it's worth messing with the fan profiles to get them going more?

You could, but 1*C. is prolly within the limits of accuracy for CPU temps.

Again, I would not worry about it.
