CPU temp discrepancy

Hi, I have "Speedfan" and the ASUS "AI Suite II" programs and they display two completely different temps for the CPU. The Speedfan says it is operating at 112c and the AI Suite says 35c. Pretty sure the speedfan temp is out to lunch as I have had no problems with the CPU since I put it in over two years ago.

Are you sure speedfan is not reading in farenheight instead of celcius?

Whale no shite the Speedfan is wrong, you would be on fire if it was right.

What processor? Many 3rd party apps misread the temperature of AMD processors, you need to use AMD Overdrive to get the Thermal Margins, and that only works once the processor is above 40.

Thanks for the responses.

Speedfan says 116C right now. AI Suite says 37C. Both are celsius.

It is a i7 3930 overclocked to 4.2. Took a screenshot, but apparently can not upload it to this forum.

Well speedfan has to be wrong, if it was 116c that would be approx. 250F, nothing would run at that temp. I'd say just disregard speedfan, 35c sounds much more in the regular realm.
